RV Slide-Out Repair in Denver, CO

Denver's freeze–thaw cycles cause slide-out seals to harden and crack, while road salt from I-70 and I-25 winter travel corrodes slide mechanisms and rack-and-pinion gears. We repair electric, hydraulic, and cable-driven slide systems, and replace seals to prevent water intrusion.

What's Included

  • Lippert and Schwintek slide-out motor diagnosis and replacement
  • Rack-and-pinion gear inspection and lubrication after mountain travel
  • Hydraulic slide fluid level service and cylinder seal replacement
  • Slide-out wiper seal and bulb seal replacement
  • Manual slide-out override and emergency retract service
  • Slide room floor and subfloor water damage assessment
  • Slide alignment and travel adjustment for level operation

RV Slide-Out Repair in Denver, Colorado — Motor, Seal & Hydraulic Service

Denver's freeze–thaw cycles are a leading cause of slide-out seal failure along the Front Range. When rubber wiper seals and bulb seals freeze against the slide room's fiberglass cap during a January cold snap, then thaw as the morning sun hits the south side of the coach, they harden, crack, and lose their ability to form a watertight seal. Road salt and grit from I-25 and I-70 winter driving also infiltrates the slide track, abrading the rack-and-pinion gears and binding the rollers that guide the slide room in and out. Left unaddressed, these issues lead to water intrusion in the slide floor and subfloor — one of the most expensive interior repairs an RV owner can face.

Lippert and Schwintek Slide Motor Repair

The Lippert electric slide system and the Schwintek in-wall slide system together cover the vast majority of travel trailers and fifth wheels sold in the last decade. Lippert systems use a single large drive motor with a worm gear reduction box, while Schwintek systems use two smaller rack-mounted motors — one on each side of the slide — that must synchronize precisely. When a Schwintek slide racking out of square, one motor has typically failed or slipped a tooth on its rack gear. We carry Schwintek motor assemblies, synchronization tools, and can re-rack the slide room in the field. Lippert motor and gearbox replacements are also stocked on our vans for same-day repair.

Hydraulic Slide System Service

Class A motorhomes from Tiffin, Newmar, Entegra, and Fleetwood typically use hydraulic slide systems powered by a central HWH, Lippert, or Power Gear hydraulic pump. These systems are generally very reliable, but low fluid, a failed solenoid valve, or a cylinder seal leak can prevent slides from moving or cause them to slowly creep in over time. We service hydraulic slide systems with approved hydraulic fluid, replace O-ring seals in cylinders, and test every solenoid valve for proper engagement. After any hydraulic service at Cherry Creek State Park Campground or Flying Saucer RV Park, we cycle all slides through three complete open-close operations to confirm reliable seating.

Emergency Slide Retract and Water Damage Assessment

A slide stuck in the out position is an emergency if you need to move your coach or if rain is entering through a failed seal. We provide emergency manual retract service using the override tool, and if the mechanism is too damaged for a field repair, we can temporarily secure the slide in the retracted position for transport. After every slide repair, we inspect the slide floor and adjacent wall panels for signs of moisture intrusion — a critical step that many owners skip, but one that can mean the difference between catching early delamination and facing a full slide room rebuild. Denver RV owners who notice their slide hesitating, grinding, or leaving a visible gap when closed should call us immediately before the Colorado weather makes the situation worse.
